Sound familiar?

You've been wondering
for a while now, haven't you.

Most people who come to us for an assessment have been carrying questions about themselves for years — sometimes decades. Often they've been told they're "too smart" to have ADHD, or "too social" to be autistic. Often they've masked so well that even people close to them didn't notice. Often they've just been labelled anxious, lazy, or difficult.

An assessment isn't about putting a label on you. It's about finally having a map.

  • Like you're working twice as hard as everyone else just to keep up — but no one can see it.

  • You've spent years performing "normal" and you're exhausted from it.

  • You're an adult who's only recently started wondering if ADHD or autism might explain a lot.

  • Previous assessments or services felt like they weren't designed for someone with your background.

  • For school adjustments, workplace accommodations, NDIS, or just for yourself.

  • You want to understand your child's experience so you can better support them.

Assessment types & Pricing

Choose the assessment
that's right for you.

All assessments are conducted via telehealth by our experienced psychologists. You can choose between a provisional psychologist (more affordable) or a registered psychologist — both provide the same gold-standard assessment process and valid, comprehensive reports.

  • A thorough evaluation of attention, executive functioning, impulsivity, and how ADHD may be showing up in your daily life — including how it may present differently across cultures and genders.

    4 sessions (50 min each)

    Provisional psychologist: $800

    Registered psychologist: $1,760

  • A comprehensive assessment of social communication, sensory profile, and behavioural patterns — interpreted through a neuroaffirming, culturally aware lens that goes beyond tick-box checklists.

    4 sessions (50 min each)

    Provisional psychologist: $800

    Registered psychologist: $1,760

  • For when both feel possible — or likely. A combined assessment gives a full neurodevelopmental picture and is particularly valuable for people who've been missed or misdiagnosed before.

    6 sessions (50 min each)

    Provisional psychologist: $1,600

    Registered psychologist: $2,200

What to expect

What actually happens
during an assessment.

No surprises. Here's exactly what the process looks like from start to finish.

  • A no-pressure chat to ask questions, understand the process, and make sure we're the right fit for you. We'll also help you figure out which assessment pathway makes the most sense.

  • We get to know you — your history, your experiences, your concerns, and your story. This is your space to share as much or as little as you're ready to. We'll also send questionnaires to you (and relevant others, if applicable) beforehand.

    50 minutes via telehealth

  • Structured assessments, standardised tools, and in-depth conversation to build a thorough and accurate picture. We take our time. ADHD and autism look different in everyone — especially in women, late-diagnosed adults, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

2–4 sessions of 50 minutes each, depending on assessment type

  • We go through your results together. No jargon, no clinical distancing — just a clear, honest conversation about what we found, what it means for you, and what comes next. You'll have space to ask everything you want to ask.

    50 minutes via telehealth

  • A detailed written report that's valid for schools, workplaces, NDIS, and other services — and written in a way that actually reflects you, not just a diagnosis on paper. Recommendations are practical and grounded in your real life.

Why Umeed

Assessments designed for
people who've been missed before.

Standard assessment tools were largely developed on white, Western, male populations. If that's not you — and for many of our clients, it isn't — that matters enormously. Here's what makes our approach different.

Culturally responsive

We account for how culture, language, and identity shape the way ADHD and autism present — and how standard tools can miss or misread this

Genuinely accessible

Telehealth, flexible scheduling, affordable pricing, and low-cost options — because getting answers shouldn't be a privilege

Neuroaffirming

We don't frame neurodivergence as a deficit. We assess strengths alongside challenges and write reports that reflect your whole self

We don't just hand you a report

The feedback session is as important as the assessment. You leave knowing what it all means and with a clear path forward

Gender-informed

We understand how ADHD and autism present differently in women, non-binary people, and those who have masked for years

Trauma-aware

Trauma and neurodivergence often overlap. We hold both with care rather than conflating or dismissing either

Things people ask us before they book.

  • No referral needed to book directly with us. If you're seeking Medicare rebates or NDIS funding, your GP or support coordinator may need to be involved — but we'll walk you through that when you enquire.

  • Absolutely for adults. In fact, a significant portion of our assessment clients are adults who've been wondering about ADHD or autism for years — sometimes well into their 30s, 40s, or beyond. It's never too late to get answers, and a late diagnosis can be genuinely life-changing.

  • Both provide thorough, gold-standard assessments with comprehensive, valid reports. Provisional psychologists are completing their supervised training hours — they're highly skilled and supervised by experienced registered psychologists. The main difference is cost, and both pathways result in the same quality of report accepted by schools, employers, and NDIS.

  • We hear this more than you'd think — especially from people who were told they "don't look autistic" or "can't have ADHD" because they performed well academically. Our assessments go deeper than surface presentation and are specifically designed to catch what others miss, particularly for women, people of colour, and late-diagnosed adults.

  • Yes. Our reports meet the requirements for school adjustments, university support, workplace accommodations, and NDIS applications. They're written by registered or supervised psychologists using gold-standard, validated assessment tools.

  • Please reach out — don't let cost be the reason you don't get answers. We offer low-cost assessment options for people experiencing financial hardship, and Medicare rebates may apply to some sessions. We'll always do our best to find a pathway that works.

  • It means we don't apply a Western, one-size-fits-all lens to your results. We ask about your cultural background, family context, language environment, and lived experience — and we interpret findings with all of that in mind. ADHD and autism look different across cultures, and a culturally responsive assessment captures your real experience rather than measuring you against a norm that was never built for you.
