The umeed community care fund
-
The Umeed Community Care Fund is our way of making sure no one is turned away from support because of cost. Funded by the profit from our events, all profit from our provisional psychologist services, and generous donations and community funding, this pool allows us to offer partially or fully subsidised therapy sessions to those who need it most.
-
At Umeed, we believe that mental health care should be accessible, inclusive, and rooted in dignity — not something only available to the few who can afford it. This fund helps us extend care to those who are often left out of the system: migrants, international students, refugees, and people from culturally diverse and marginalised communities who deserve to be held and supported.
Because healing shouldn’t depend on your bank balance — and you shouldn’t have to choose between getting help and getting by.
-
The fund grows through the profit from Umeed’s events and workshops
100% of profit from provisional psychologist sessions goes directly into the fund
Donations and grants from individuals and organisations help keep it going
We use the fund to offer partially or fully subsidised therapy for those experiencing financial hardship —this includes individual counselling, couples counselling, group therapy and psychological assessment
-
Every time you come to a Umeed event, book a session with a provisional psychologist, or donate, you’re not just accessing care — you’re helping someone else access it too. You become part of a shared movement to make mental health support more just, compassionate, and community-driven.
-
If therapy feels out of reach right now, we invite you to apply for support through the Community Care Fund. The form is short and straightforward — no need to prove anything or go into detail. Just let us know you need a hand, and we’ll walk with you from there.

Why give?
-
✽
Because no one should be turned away from therapy due to cost.
Mental health care should be a right, not a privilege. -
✽
Because your contribution directly funds therapy for someone in need.
Every dollar goes toward partially or fully subsidising sessions — no admin fees, just care. -
✽
Because too many people from migrant, refugee, and marginalised communities are under-supported.
This fund helps close the gap and create culturally responsive, accessible care. -
✽
Because therapy changes lives.
With the right support, people find safety, healing, and hope again. -
✽
Because healing should be community-powered.
When we care for each other, we all rise. -
✽
Because you can be part of something bigger than yourself.
A movement toward dignity, equity, and shared humanity.
