FEES & FUNDING

Our Practitioners & Fees

At Umeed, our team brings together a range of skilled mental health practitioners — each trained, supervised, and deeply committed to culturally responsive, neuroaffirming care. Our fees reflect the type of practitioner you see, making it easier to find support that fits both your needs and your budget.

All of our practitioners  have completed a minimum of five years of university training.

Provisional Psychologists are in their final year of supervised practice on the path to full registration. At Umeed, all sessions and reports are supervised and signed off by our Director, Anushka — so you receive high-quality, thorough care at a more accessible price point. All reports are valid for diagnostic purposes.

Registered Psychologists have completed all formal training and supervision requirements and work with a high degree of clinical independence. They are able to provide Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Psychotherapists are practitioners who work with clients on deeper psychological and relational patterns, drawing on a rich range of therapeutic approaches. Psychotherapists are not registered psychologists, so Medicare rebates do not apply — however private health insurance may cover sessions depending on your level of cover.

Counsellors bring warmth, skill, and genuine therapeutic training to their work. They are well-suited for clients seeking consistent, accessible talk-based support for life's challenges — from identity and relationships to cultural pressures and everyday wellbeing. Medicare rebates and MHCP do not apply, but private health insurance may cover sessions.

Funding Options

At Umeed Psychology, we understand that navigating funding options for psychological assessments and therapy can feel overwhelming, which is why we support a range of pathways to make care more accessible. Clients may be eligible for Medicare rebates through a Mental Health Treatment Plan, and we work with both NDIS plan-managed and self-managed participants. We also accept private health insurance extras cover for eligible services, as well as self-funded and out-of-pocket arrangements for clients who prefer flexibility outside of a formal plan. For those accessing support through their workplace, we welcome referrals via Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and we also support clients funded through state-based schemes such as Victims of Crime Assistance, TAC (Transport Accident Commission), and WorkCover. Our team can help guide you through your options so you can access neuroaffirming, culturally responsive psychological care in a way that works for your circumstances.
