Children & Adolescent Assessment Packages
As a parent, you know your child better than any test ever could — but sometimes you need more than instinct to get them the right support at school or at home. Our assessments for children and adolescents are designed to give you clarity on ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, learning difficulties, or giftedness, without reducing your child to a checklist.
Guess What?
You Know Your Child Best.
We take the time to understand your child's story — their culture, their family context, their strengths — alongside gold-standard testing tools. Reports are written to be genuinely useful: for school adjustments, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), NCCD applications, and NDIS funding, as well as for you, so you actually understand what's going on for your child and what to do next.
Choose from Comprehensive or Brief options across ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, Cognitive, SLD / Academic Achievement, and combined SLD packages, plus a Giftedness Assessment (Cognitive + WIAT) and our Full Neurodevelopmental Profile for the most complete picture.

What to expect
What actually happens
during an assessment.
No surprises. Here's exactly what the process looks like from start to finish.
-
A no-pressure chat to ask questions, understand the process, and make sure we're the right fit for you. We'll also help you figure out which assessment pathway makes the most sense.
-
We get to know you — your history, your experiences, your concerns, and your story. This is your space to share as much or as little as you're ready to. We'll also send questionnaires to you (and relevant others, if applicable) beforehand.
50 minutes via telehealth
-
Structured assessments, standardised tools, and in-depth conversation to build a thorough and accurate picture. We take our time.
2–8 sessions of 50 minutes each, depending on assessment type
-
We go through your results together. No jargon, no clinical distancing — just a clear, honest conversation about what we found, what it means for you, and what comes next. You'll have space to ask everything you want to ask.
50 minutes via telehealth
-
A detailed written report that's valid for schools, workplaces, NDIS, and other services — and written in a way that actually reflects you, not just a diagnosis on paper. Recommendations are practical and grounded in your real life.
Why Umeed
Assessments designed for
people who've been missed before.
Standard assessment tools were largely developed on white, Western, male populations. If that's not you — and for many of our clients, it isn't — that matters enormously. Here's what makes our approach different.
Culturally responsive
We account for how culture, language, and identity shape the way SLD, ADHD and autism present — and how standard tools can miss or misread this
Genuinely accessible
Telehealth, flexible scheduling, affordable pricing, and low-cost options — because getting answers shouldn't be a privilege
Neuroaffirming
We don't frame neurodivergence as a deficit. We assess strengths alongside challenges and write reports that reflect your whole self
We don't just hand you a report
The feedback session is as important as the assessment. You leave knowing what it all means and with a clear path forward
Gender-informed
We understand how SLD, ADHD and autism present differently in women, non-binary people, and those who have masked for years
Trauma-aware
Trauma and neurodivergence often overlap. We hold both with care rather than conflating or dismissing either
Things people ask us before they book.
-
No referral needed to book directly with us. If you're seeking Medicare rebates or NDIS funding, your GP or support coordinator may need to be involved — but we'll walk you through that when you enquire.
-
Both provide thorough, gold-standard assessments with comprehensive, valid reports. Provisional psychologists are completing their supervised training hours — they're highly skilled and supervised by experienced registered psychologists. The main difference is cost, and both pathways result in the same quality of report accepted by schools, employers, and NDIS.
-
We hear this more than you'd think — especially from people who were told they "don't look autistic" or "can't have ADHD" because they performed well academically. Our assessments go deeper than surface presentation and are specifically designed to catch what others miss, particularly for women, people of colour, and late-diagnosed adults.
-
Yes. Our reports meet the requirements for school adjustments, university support, workplace accommodations, and NDIS applications. They're written by registered or supervised psychologists using gold-standard, validated assessment tools.
-
Please reach out — don't let cost be the reason you don't get answers. We offer low-cost assessment options for people experiencing financial hardship, and Medicare rebates may apply to some sessions. We'll always do our best to find a pathway that works.
-
It means we don't apply a Western, one-size-fits-all lens to your results. We ask about your cultural background, family context, language environment, and lived experience — and we interpret findings with all of that in mind. ADHD and autism look different across cultures, and a culturally responsive assessment captures your real experience rather than measuring you against a norm that was never built for you.
